I just want to say what a positive experience I had with this company. I called and within two rings, someone picked up. She took all of my information and asked me a few questions. I had a representative at my business within a few hours. He even gave me a courtesy phone call to let me know when he was 20 minutes out. Jason did a great job and was very courteous, punctual and did quick repairs. He replaced a Honeywell duct dampener. My only concern was value. We have a maintenance contract so only cost was for the part. The exact part online was less than $200 but Hal Watson charged me a little over $400 including tax. A 100% mark-up on the part seems excessive to me.

Technicians always show up when scheduled, if not a little early. Can’t beat that! Courteous, knowledgeable, and very upfront about everything with me. I inherited this system that was installed by them when I bought this house, but I have been very pleased with their service!

Been using Hal Watson for years to maintain our air conditioning and heating systems. They have been excellent. Their service technicians arrive on time and are first rate. They have 24 hour emergency service which is very important when a problem occurs during an offer hour. They run an first rate operation.

Great experience from an independently owned business. Why does it matter that they are independently owned? Woodlands Air, Bradbury and John Moore are all owned by a larger parent company who has different profit incentives. A service technician from a non-independently owned AC company like a John Moore is incentivized to Replace your AC unit not Repair so a conflict of interest exists. Hal Watson did a great service for me by placing repair first then replace as a last resort. From the on time appointment arrival to the care in servicing the unit to the reasonable pricing, Thomas did 5 star service. Support local business, but check to be sure they are local beyond just an old local name. Will use Hal Watson going forward!

Excellent service, technician Paul called us 20 minutes before his arrival and came on time. He did a great job performing fall service , changed filters, and did the entire service in a professional manner.

We are extremely pleased with the service and attitude we have received for the many years of service (probably 30 years). The last service periods we have had Nick as our technician. This has provided not only great service but also a strong quality of service. Any operating procedure has been handled perfectly.

This morning started off with our Ox and cart both in the ditch. A 10 HP water chiller for our #1 Dry Clean Machine was not working. A desperate call to Hal Watson and by 9:30 Jason was on our roof with covers off diagnosing our problems. By 10:00 our chiller was back on line and everything on schedule. Hal Watson HVAC has been in the Woodlands at least since as long as we have (34 years). They are an honest, reliable, dependable, quickly available, and knowledgeable HVAC company. Justin has visited us multiple times over several years. We value his expertise and insight into our a/c and heating equipment. We request him as often as possible,

Josh arrived on time and checked that both units were heating properly. He pointed out that our units are 17 years old and recommended that we replace them. He made the point that in 2025 a different refrigerant will be required that is not well known. I pointed out that it’s been in use in California for more than a decade. I felt like he was pushing a sale using doubt and uncertainty. No problem with pointing out the risk of old units but I’d appreciate a more objective discussion of pros and cons.

Justin and Chris arrived on time in the afternoon following another Woodlands area HVAC technician came by in the morning to diagnose our lack of AC. The AM tech came to the conclusion we needed a completely new furnace and blower (quoted about $7000) but recommended a full change out. I didn’t ask how much that was.Justin and Chris found the problem was not the furnace and blower, rather a bad contactor and transformer. $700. Done. Cold AC!Honesty and integrity is what is so very missing from industries that decide they can prey on the uninformed, and looking for a sale instead of doing the right thing. Highly Recommend!!!! We have used Hal Watson for the past 14 years. They serviced our old units, replaced all 3 units at some point, and continue to service those units. They are easy to schedule. The techs are knowledgeable and the office staff is outstanding. They go above and beyond to solve your issues. Most recently we had a blower go out on a new unit due to the hurricane. It was under warranty, but after several weeks of waiting for a new blower, Trane still couldn’t tell them when it would be available. Hal Watson went ahead and replaced the entire furnace (blower is in the furnace) to get us up and running. Trane put Hal Watson in bad a spot by not being able to provide the necessary parts for repair, but Hal Watson knew it was important to take care of their customer and took the necessary steps to do so. Thank you to all at Hal Watson for taking care of us.

They did a good job. They are very honest and helpful people. I like that they are very upfront about their charges. I even signed up for their annual maintenance plan.

Our AC was out when we returned from being gone a few days. Immediately called Hal Watson and James Jones arrived the next day. He quickly diagnosed the problem and proposed a way to fix it. Replaced the blower motor and AC was back on that day! James did not try to upsell or otherwise take advantage of the situation. Truly appreciated the professional services provided! Thomas explained everything they were doing and answered all of my questions. Will use them again if needed!My neighbor across the street recently used Hal Watson AC and recommended them when our AC went out. I placed a call with their answering service around 7p. By 9p we had their service tech - Jeff (maybe Justin?) - who was friendly and got right to the problem. He identified a busted capacitor right away, replaced the equipment, went over the charges with me and checked my freon levels while he was here. In and out within less than 20 min and very friendly and professional.We hope to have AC by morning!

Finally an air conditioning tech that is not on commission and does not try to sell you a whole new unit because of some easily fixable issue that extends the life. Hal Watson seems like a trustworthy company unlike John Moore, Woodlands Plumbing and Air or Bradbury and Sons, who by the way were bought out by venture capital and put everyone on commission, which incentivizes every tech to sell you a new system rather fix your old one.

I could write a novel about Hal Watsons exemplary service and kindness . In addition to my own home , they’ve serviced my 96 year old mother’s home . The respect they treated her with we will never forget. Each time they come we get educated on the ins and outs of how to care for our system. Most recent we had ac out on a “feels like” 105 day in a neighborhood hit hard by Beryl. We just knew we would be hunting for hotels that day. They came out same day in the heat of the day and had us cooling off and re educated in minutes .Price isn’t the highest and isn’t the lowest but the customer service is TOP NOTCH.

Came out on a weekend to fix a condensation drain issue that was seeping through my ceiling. Prompt, courteous, explained issues in a way I could understand and showed me the issues. Price was very reasonable for an emergent weekend issue. Will be using again to create zones for better control of individual room temps

I highly recommend Hal Watson! I had a new AC installed by another company and unfortunately the unit was not working properly from day one. The company that installed it came out once and was not able to fix it. Although they told me it was fixed, it was not. I called a second company and they came out and told me it was installed improperly and shut off the unit because it was frozen. The next day, the second company told me that because they had not installed it, they would not touch it because of warranty issues. I called Trane directly and waited four days in July in Houston with no AC for them to escalate the matter. Finally, Trane gave me the number for Hal Watson.. Hal Watson was at my house a few hours later! Not only did they fix what was wrong, but they were friendly, professional, quick and thorough. On top of all of that, they are reasonably priced. Save yourself some time. Call Hal Watson first! They truly were a God send for me.

They have done all our AC and heating service for years. Recently replaced one of our systems. The explanation of our options was excellent. The install was promptly scheduled and completed in less time than was scheduled. Crew was friendly and appeared competent. They cleaned up nicely. From the lady who answers the phone to the technicians; they are all wonderful. The technician is always on time. I’ve used them for 5 years and I’ve always s been very happy with their service. Last spring my A/C needed a new part. I don’t remember what, but I believe the repair was excellent and the charge was very fair. My furnace, I believe I s 16 years old. It’s the original furnace and I was afraid I might even need a new one this year. He said it’s fine and has used about half of its life. I was so happy to hear that.

Our heater suddenly, and without warning, stopped working Friday night before the coldest days in a century. Winter storm of 2021. Jason was great. Although incredibly busy, he came by when I called Saturday morning to assess. He had to go after other service calls to get the parts needed, and made a special effort to come back that same day so that for the very coldest days of Sunday and Monday we were taken care of.I highly recommend Hal Watson, but especially Jason.

Their AC technician, Justin was at my house same day in 30 mintues after I set up the appointment! He was very knowledgeable and courteous. They dont trash out your house or attic and get the job done quickly. They also respond promptly to outages, which I greatly appreciate in the summer!

My AC went out early Thursday morning and called as soon as they opened and they had someone out immediately. I needed an entire new system (unit was at least 20+ years old) and they had a new one installed early the next morning. Very friendly, fast and efficient service. Guys cleaned up spotless. Updated Review 2024:Wow - these guys are just awesome! I just bought a new house that apparently has a crappy HVAC system. My AC went out on me (on Friday night of course!) But Hal Watson managed to fit me in on Saturday (Nick to the rescue) got me running in no time. And Thomas came on Monday to triple check the system and get this - on his way out he even brought in my Amazon packages. These guys are beyond fantastic!!! I trust them 100% and really appreciate that they dont upsell me.2020 Review: I have been using how Watson air conditioning since 2006. They have been very fair and reliable. They do quality work. They installed a trane for me at my last house, and at this house there is a 20 year old trane that they are keeping going for me. I highly recommend them.

I wish all companies functioned as efficiently and easily as Hal Watson. My mom had an issue with her system , I called around and those that answered their phones, couldnt get out for a day or so. When I called Hal Watson, I was received with such friendliness and respect. They tried to trouble shoot the problem to avoid me having to pay a trip charge, but when it was decided that they needed to come to the house, they scheduled a time for that day. The tech - Paul Sehon & his associate, actually showed up 45 min early, fixed our problem and went on their way. What great service. I highly recommend Hal Watson.

In spite of a repeated failure of my Trane AC (manufacture issue- Not Hal Watson)- the rep- Jason Allen was VERY helpful and accommodating. He found necessary part and had the AC fixed the next day and the part (expensive compressor) was covered by warranty and Jason gave me a discount on the labor charges. Hal Watson has always over last 15 years been prompt , courteous and helpful. I highly recommend them. They are service/customer focused.

The repair person representing the company was timely, prepared, and informative on the units he serviced. He was clear on the costs of the repair and the spring and fall maintenance we were purchasing. He DID NOT try to sell us unnecessary or additional equipment or services. Which is a real plus for us! Called on Monday and spoke with Vicky who was very professional and friendly. She was able to get someone out on Tuesday morning by 8:30 AM to check my AC drain. Derek arrived and was very professional and courteous. Spent 30-40 minutes checking everything out. I felt like he truly cared and wanted to make sure I was comfortable and understood what he was saying. Highly recommend this company. I even signed up to do yearly maintenance on my AC. I have a home warranty company that I feel sends out people who are new to the business and trying to build their clientele. Will definitely get rid of them at the end of the year. I only use Hal Watson Air Conditioning Service for my air conditioning and heating needs. The technicians are courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Today I needed a repair that I was not expecting. The repair was completed quickly and on-budget. My home is cool again! I’m very happy with Hal Watson services!

The Hal Watson team installed our heating/ac system when our house was new and has continued to perform routine surveillance since. The technicians have consistently been well trained with excellent communication skills. They provide feedback while working through their work items and patiently respond to any questions we might have. And they do the important little things like wearing boot covers to avoid tracking dirt. When job is finished they carefully summarize what they found - if anything needs followup attention. And even for exterior work they leave the work area as clean, or cleaner than they found it.

I’ve used Hal Watson for years and have loved their honesty and integrity. A technician, Jason, came today to do my seasonal heater checkup. He was very friendly and did his work in a quick and unobtrusive way. Obsolutely as expected. Thanks Hal Watson!

Update & revised review 6/21/19: The owner reached out. I explained my experience with his service tech & what the other company service tech said. The owner personally came out to the house & with my husband right next to him, ran the checks again. He explained what our unit is reading vs what it should be. He did end up needing to add 1.5 lbs to the system. Tyler was very patient & kind. He did say he doesnt think a leak test is necessary at this time. We compared his readings today to the readings the other company recorded yesterday & there is a big discrepancy. As a consumer outsourcing a service we rely on the recommendation of the experts - as a female home for the service calls I was upset thinking I was being taken advantage of. I am very grateful Tyler took the time to read reviews & contact us.6/20/19: We have 2 units and were on a bi-annual preventive maintenance package with Hal Watson. Tech tells me our older unit is about 3 lbs low and needed to be recharged at $89/lb & recommended a coil leak detection to try & find the source of the leak. I declined the service. About 5 months earlier we had our downstairs unit replaced by another company. I called them for a 2nd opinion- their tech said the unit is running in the recommended range & didnt feel it was low. (Note: my initial review was 1 star based on the initial experience - the current 5 stars reflects the follow up)

AC unit went down Saturday evening. We called Hal Watson at 6:55pm to see if they could come out to service our unit and how much it might cost on the weekend. Nick called as right back and gave us detailed explanation of the potential cost. Based on his evaluation and how hot our house was we decided to have the unit serviced immediately. Less than an hour from our original call our unit was working perfectly and the weekend service was only $30 more than waiting 2 hot days and having it serviced on Monday. To say we were impressed with Nick’s professionalism and service would be an understatement. We always call Hal Watson for our ac needs and once again they exceeded our expectations. Always an excellent choice of air conditioning service companies. Their customer service is outstanding and their workmanship is excellent. Recently the condensate drain plugged up and the expansion valve failed nearly simultaneously. A master service technician was dispatched to fix these issues in a matter of two days so I could catch my flight to China. All was fixed and completed in record time. Can’t say enough for their high quality work and focus on the customer.

Hal Watson heating and AC is first rate. Have used them for years and would not change. I made a mistake and gave them a 4 star review. It should have been 5 stars. This has been corrected. They are. 5 star company. Great service and always upfront and honest.

We had a little scheduling hiccup this time when we didn’t get a call back on Monday after our call to them on Saturday — but, when I called we got seen on Monday, part arrived Tuesday and was installed that day. I have been using Hal Watsons services for longer than I can remember. They have always arrived on time, have completed their work quickly but willing to take the time to answer all the questions I have. I would highly recommend their service to anyone.

Ive used Hal Watson A/C for 25 yrs. all to my satisfaction. Their technicians are well trained and always courteous/efficient. They are here twice yearly to perform maintenance checks on my equipment and at times identify parts that need replacement which keep my units from incurring problems in between service calls. They install Trane units which in my opinion are the best on the market.

We have used Hal Watson for the bi-yearly service calls for at least twelve years. Every tech has been knowledgeable and professional. Approximately four years ago, we replaced and up graded our system, per their recommendations, and added the allergy air filters (to help with my husband’s allergies and asthma). Not only is the unit more energy efficient but I don’t have to dust as often!

My central air conditioning unit stopped working on Monday and I call Hal Watson in the morning. Ms. Vicki answered the phone and kindly scheduled for a service for same day.Mr. Paul came to my place at 12:30 PM. He replaced the capacitor and put 3 LBS Freon and wanted to check the Freon leakage in the attic unit. It was too hot and I asked him to come to work when the weather get cooler since the air condition unit produce cool air.I contacted Hal Watson Air Conditioning Company based on Google review and the recommendations from my neighbors. As the reputation, Hal Watson Air Conditioning Company was wonderful at taking care of the problem I was having with my central air conditioning unit.I am so glad that I found Hal Watson Air Conditioning Company. I am surely going to use Hal Watson Air Conditioning Company to work on the unit in attic when the weather is cooler. Ms. Vicki and Mr. Paul both were wonderful and I know that they represent the company they work for and I was very happy with Hal Watson Air Conditioning Company.I would recommend Hal Watson Air Conditioning Company to anyone.

During this HORRIBLE heat wave in TEXAS my A/C stopped working. My tech, Thomas C was efficient, professional and I would have given him a TEN if I could of. He was terrific! However, their office customer service was worst than awful! I placed an order on line on Thursday, 6/9. When I heard nothing, I called on Friday the 10th….the rep couldn’t get off the phone fast enough….I heard her hang up before I finished talking! When I heard nothing again, I called on Sat the 11th! Still nothing! I am a 75 year old disabled senior, who understood they were busy and simply wanted an acknowledgement and an appointment! So I tried again on Monday! Thank God, I finally spoke to a human who cared!

They installed a top of the line system back in 10. Been flawless ever since. Did a maintenance check on Wed this week and it showed some issues. They went above and beyond to look at ductwork that was original before their system install and found some pinched lines that kept air out of one of our rooms. All now working better then before. Awesome job Hal Watson. So glad I’m using you guys. A+++

Technician arrived on time and did a great job inspecting our unit. Our unit is part of new construction but he did find an issue with the installation of the overflow drains. Nothing major and we were able to remedy it ourselves. Will definitely be signing up for their maintenance program.

I have used Hal Watson A/C for several years and continue to be impressed each time they come out for any reason.After Harvey flooding, they inspected all the units and only had to change a capacitor or two and spray the contacts with WD-40. The utmost honesty and integrity at a vulnerable time for consumers. The most recent service was due to a nearby lighting strike. I called at 7 AM (they dont open until 8 AM) and received a call back minutes later from the serviceman to discuss the issue. He was at the house by 11 AM the same day, identified the problem within minutes and went to lunch, picked up the needed part and had it installed by 1 PM.The level of professional, knowledge, care and courtesy that the tech from Hal Watson, Thomas, displayed is extremely hard to find anywhere today. I wish they worked on more than just HVAC systems!Pricing is very fair and reasonable and their honesty is superb!

We had many AC companies come to the house and everyone wanted to sell us a new unit with no explanation other than it is 14 years old. Hal came to the house, fixed everything the previous people overlooked and explained what they issue was with the current unit. Offered to fix existing unit, and after looking at the cost we decided to get a new unit. They had it installed the next day for the same price as everyone else with no hidden fees. I would highly recommend these guys they did a great job.
