I highly recommend Transmission Wholesale (aka Browns Auto Repair and Transmissions) for any transmission needs. I recently had the 7-speed automatic transmission in my AMG C63s W205 rebuilt, and now it shifts and drives like brand new.The turnaround time was impressively quick, and the pricing was fair—extremely competitive compared to other shops. One of the standout aspects was their excellent communication. Jeremy kept me updated every couple of days throughout the process, which was a nice touch; most places only call when the job is finished.Overall, these guys are probably one of the best transmission shops in Houston, and I have zero complaints.

In September 2023 my brakes were squealing. I took my Toyota truck to Brown’s Auto repair on 12107 Louetta Rd., Houston, TX. 77070. They said only my front brakes needed replaced. My back brakes didn’t need to be replaced yet. I paid them to replace only the font brakes. I LOVE their HONESTY !! They could have charged me for the front and back brakes but they didn’t. It is tough to find a business that is honest now days.If by mistake I left my purse on their work counter overnight and picked up my purse the next day I would not worry about anything missing. I’ve known Steve Smith, for years many years now and he is very informative about the business he’s in!!! I was just there to have my jeep repaired thought it was serpentine belt and tensioned pulley but the guys in shop that was not my problem was a ac compressor and they took care of the problem!!! Was recommended to Browns by my usual mechanic due to the size of the job (transmission rebuild). Was told Jeremy was great and he did not disappoint. He fought on my behalf for the extended warranty company to cover the repairs, and ensured I didnt have to worry about a thing. My family just purchased a house and it was the worst time for car issues. Thankfully, I was constantly updated, and repairs were quick. I couldnt be happier with the service, the truck drives great and I felt more than taken care of. He even documented potential problems so that they are covered in the future by the warranty company should it become an issue. I didn’t have an appointment coming in today, I was hoping they would be able to fit me in while I waited. I was not in a hurry. I needed a brake flush done for my warranty protection as it’s new. I came in this morning for a quick alignment after having some sterring issues. I called ahead when I left the house and was promptly met by a technician, J Garret, in the front. They agreed to replace my brake pads and rotor even if I was the one who ordered the parts. They they called and said brake pads and rotors do not need replaced yet as both have about 50% life to it..prior to coming here, I was at another shop and was told they need to be replaced asap! I hate bringing my car to an auto shop bc they’re infamous for charging people for shit they don’t need. I’ve had a gas leak issue with my car that happens at random times. Usually happens during cold weather, but even then I haven’t been able to pinpoint the issue. I needed an oil change anyway, so Figured I’d bring it by and have Brown’s mechanics check it out. The guys were great, they looked at my car, did everything they could to reproduce the problem and were unable to. I was worried they would charge me an arm and a leg for a diagnostic, or that maybe they’d make up some bullshit repair just to charge me. NOPE!! They called me and said they can’t reproduce the leak and told me they would just do the oil change and gave me some tips on what to consider and notate if the problem happens again so I can bring it to them immediately and hopefully they can spot the issue! They charged me only for the oil change and were very transparent. I’d recommend Brown’s auto repair to my family and friends !

Came in with a failing transmission. The guys tested it and let me know in easy to understand language on what was wrong and needed to be fixed. They did a full transmission rebuild on my 2007 Toyota Tundra. They went through every piece thoroughly and although it gave them some issues they figured out what they were, took great care and patience to make the repair right and it is performing like a new truck now. Unlike other places they completely take it apart and go through and clean everything thoroughly on a rebuild. I highly recommend Browns and if you have transmission needs these guys are at the top of the heap. If you go somewhere else they are probably going to send it to Brown’s to do the Transmission. I’ll definitely be going back for other maintenance needs! Great Customer service and friendly employees!

Customer Service is by far the best I’ve ever had. Called because I needed a battery. They were waiting for me and took my vehicle back and was out of there in about 15 minutes. Tyler was awesome and the gentleman (sorry I didn’t get his name) that changed out the battery was quick and had me on my way in no time. I’ll be back.

Just a quick note that they do not do emissions inspection for registrations here. They sent me to New Star Muffler, who took care of me promptly.

As they have in the past for me, Brown’s Auto did a great job working on my truck. Parts are available less and less on my 32 year old truck. They always seem to find a way to get me back on the road. I would heartily recommend Brown’s to anyone.

Brown rebuilt my transmission in my 2004 Dodge Dakota and the level of explanation of service, local reputation along with competitive pricing in relation to other shops in the area was what sold it with me to use them. They did the work in the time expected and after two months of driving I noticed an oil issue in the area where the transmission met the engine, I took it back to them and no hesitation they removed to transmission to make sure it was not their issue and advised me to the fact that what was happening was a minor issue. They then serviced my vehicle and it is now back on the road. I have had a regular mechanic for years (but he did not do transmission repairs), however I believe I will have to start taking my vehicles to Browns for regular maintenance. Good honest shop. A friend (Scott Wallace and Charles Cockrell) recommended the shop when I mentioned that my transmission had gone out on my 2006 F359, while out of town. Jeremy and his team where amazing went in with what I thought was transmission problems looking to spend 4300 turned out with their help a ignition coil problem they where amazing.

I went to this shop after going to other shop. The other shop were trying to ripe me off with thousands in repairs I didn’t need. I took my chance on the little shop. Tyler handle my repair fast and easy the same day. They fixed the problem and never charge me for other things that wasn’t broken. Plus the price was great. Thank you Brown’s Auto Repair.

I needed new shocks for front and back and they are not cheap at all but Brown’s did quote lower price to me then what the dealership did so I did save some money. Everyone at Brown’s is extremely nice and helpful. The service was done so fast too and on a holiday week. I will definitely be back and recommend others to go here as well.

Needed my car made trip-worthy. They changed the oil, fixed a broken tail light, topped off fluids, making it safe for a long road trip.Theyve been working on our cars for over a decade.Several years later, theyre still the first person we call when a vehicle requires anything. They are straight up people, who warranty their work. They fix it right every time. I dont trust anyone else to work on our cars and give us a fair price for the work they do. Got a fair price. They got to work on my vehicle right away and finished sooner than I expected. Tyler was very friendly and easy to work with. Although my vehicle was ready, extenuating circumstances prevented me from picking it up for an extra day. Tyler said it would not be a problem. He was very considerate of my situation and the next day, he suggested that rather than me picking it up the next day, he could have it delivered to me that day. I agreed, of course. Not in just conversations with me, but with other customers as well, the staff at Browns Auto Repair do not seem to be in the business of recommending unnecessary services. Also, the standard prices are going to beat dealerships discounted prices.The only Con I can think of is: Their services are in high demand so they may not be able to address your issues immediately. The Pro to that is: When my 90K mile Flushes were performed - I noticed a significant difference in Response-to-Driver; Smoother Shifting and better Fuel Efficiency/Economy. Ill be returning for High Mileage Services and Tune-ups.

I took my vehicle for one of the 8 cylinders getting misfired on a 2014 jeep grand Cherokee to several auto shops before going to Brown’s.Patrick and his team could identify the issue right away and they did a tremendous job getting it fixed. I understand they took a while to get it completely fixed since they had to tear down the engine to get to the bottom of the problem and fix it. But it was worth the wait to get everything fixed. Not only the team fixed the issue, but also Patrick worked with the warranty company to get most of the work approved under the extended coverage. Hands down this is the best place to take your vehicle for any kind of mechanical/transmission failure on your vehicle.

Took my car in at 8am to get A/C work done to it believing it would be a 2 day multi hour job. I received a call back several hours later stating that the car was completed and that I could come pick it up. Never heard of browns auto but saw the reviews on google and figured I’ll give it a shot.I funny enough had a very similar accident to the one I brought them and the place I brought it to that last time did a horrible job. I own a Nissan Altima and smashed the passenger side wheel into a curb ya both time sadly. Browns auto was really easy to deal with and did a fantastic job fixing my car it’s driving better than it has in years since that previous similar crash. Steering wheel not shaking any more, the alignment is perfect and not drifting any more like it did for years and brakes are feeling better than ever. 10/10 would recommend all people I dealt with were super friendly and they never ignored or missed one of my calls. Also worth mentioning I had it towed there from Houston for a phenomenal price since they are partnered with the tow service.

My transmission was repaired 6 months ago with a 2 year warranty. I had to take it back to Brown’s and they repaired it again for free. They do good work and they stand by their warranties. I’d go back and use them anytime I need transmission service.

Overall I had a great experience with Brown’s Transmission. I worked with Stephen from beginning to the end. Initially Brown’s towed my vehicle from a different repair shop, after I read the reviews from the previous shop, I no longer wanted to do business. Previous shop was not up front about the towing cost if we decided not to use their services. Ratings were not great . I asked Stephen if they would charge after inspection he told me no. So I felt comfortable with that answer. The previous repair shop wanted their money up front for the total repairs $3800.00!! Never had I heard of this in my life. Overall I’m pleased with the services at Brown’s. They projected I would have my vehicle returned after a week. True enough they delivered. So far so good with my vehicle. Smooth ride. Only suggestion I would have, when less busy, update the customer on the status of their vehicle when time allows… also my vehicle has a 24 month transferable warranty..Sincerely a true paid customer 🙂

Took my car in for a transmission service after being recommended to do so by the VW dealership. Brown’s technicians took a sample of my fluid and were very honest about it being in good condition and the fact that it is a lifetime fluid that is not recommended to be changed. They sent me on my way and didn’t charge me a dime for helping me out.

What a wonderful experience. I went here to get a pre-purchase inspection on a used car. I called right before and thought it would take a while, but they got to it the minute they could in about half the time I expected. The people working there are incredibly good-natured and kind and a pleasure to be around.The inspection they did seemed thorough and they made sure I had a good written and printed copy of what they found. They gave cheap alternatives to ways I could fix a problem that would take the business away from them but save me money. And then on top of all that, they charged me less than quoted because the car was small and it did not take as long!!I live 40 minutes away from this mechanic but when I tell you that I and everyone I know will go here from now on I mean it! What amazing people!

These guys have did great work on my 1977 corvette so far . Replaced timing chain ,dialed in my rocker arms .Car idles good . So I proceeded to let them do some suspension work . We’ll see how it’s drives once the new ticket is complete so far though 5 stars.🤘🏾🙏🏾

Took vehicle in for Oil Pan gasket replacement and fuel injector flush. Work was completed in the time frame promised. Vehicle is running much smoother and better acceleration. Patrick and the staff will take great care of all ur maintenance needs.

This repair shop was recommended by the original shop where my truck’s mechanical issue was being evaluated. Evidently, the repair needed was beyond the original shops technical capability. Once I arrived with my vehicle, this shop’s staff immediately assisted me and assured me they would “take care of it.” Even though this shop was extremely busy, the staff communicated the difficulty and delay of my needed repair in a clear and professional way. The staff further confidently assured me that the shop would remain open till the necessary repair was completed, and providing an adequate and expected service warranty at the point of payment. By the way, did I mention this shop’s service rates were very competitive to others I contacted in the surrounding area.

Great service. I’m a repeat customer, not that having two different transmissions go out on two vehicles is fun, they did a great job of getting both vehicles back on the road and working as they should.

I took my old car here after it started giving me problems. The guys here did a full diagnostic and told me everything wrong with my car. They were very honest and laid out the price of everything that would need to be fixed. I decided it was time for a new car and that I wanted to scrap my old one. These guys handled the entire process for me and even got me more money than expected from their scrap car guy. I have nothing but good things to say about this shop and the people running it. Where to start, these guys were awesome. The transmission in my 2016 silverado started to completely fail, Im on leave from the Army and I was supposed to drive back today until that happened, I was told the guys at Browns would help and they did. I told them my situation and they immediately started working on putting a whole new transmission in my truck, they got it done in the same day and my truck drives like its brand new, Steve was a huge help and I cant thank these guys enough. 👍

Had a problem with dealer implementing a know TSB that my truck was exhibiting the symptoms of intermittently. Finally took it to Browns. They immediately knew the issue and fortunately for me had needed part in stock because currently Ford is out (evidently again). Car in, transmission fixed and back on road in less than 48 hours. Two thumbs up....

I put over 315,000 miles on my little Corolla and one day I began smelling something burning. I thought it was coming from the transmission and fully accepted that I might need a replacement/rebuild. So I told Browns what was going on and they quoted me a very pleasant number for a full rebuild on my transmission, compared to what the dealership quoted me. I didn’t feel the price was cheap but I certainly felt it was a good and fair price considering the rebuild came with a 2 year-45K miles warranty on parts AND labor, other places were quoting me 25% more without ANY warranty. The next day they told me the burning smell was a plastic bag that got stuck to my muffler and started melting lol smh. They could’ve told me my transmission was on its last leg..I would’ve believed them…and spent the money for a rebuilt transmission BUT they were very honest with me and didn’t even charge me a diagnostic fee. Great group of honest and hard working folks who will be getting my business again and I’d be a fool not to recommend them with so many other scrupulous shops out there. Great job Brown’s!!

Called Tuesday about getting in to have my back brakes checked and replaced. I was told to be there bright and early today and was able to get an accurate diagnostic and service. Will be back next week for the front brakes and routers! Very relaxed, funny, and professional team.

By some luck and divine help I came across Browns. From the very first phone call I knew I had found a fair and honest company. They fixed her car at a fraction of the cost. I live in utah and I am grateful to know that she has a place she can trust for her future car needs.

Everyone I worked with was great, super friendly and professional! They diagnosed the issue and repaired it in short order once the part arrived. They even honored their quoted price despite the part being significantly more expensive than they anticipated. Only reason for 4 ⭐️ vs 5 was that I had to initiate most contacts and had trouble getting a call back a few times. However, I would still highly recommend them to anyone who wants a good repair at a fair price.

Im a business owner and one of my vans transmission went out I took it to one shop and they wanted over $11k to replace the transmission I went and picked the van up and the starting googling transmission shops found Browns auto repair talked to the owner Jeremy and told him what was going on he gave me a price over the phone and stuck to his price. Fast service and friendly staff, Ive been using this place for many years. Caution that in my last two visits I was charged for their tech breaking my bolts at $250 to $300 a bolt. Perhaps they need retraining in using power tools?

Brown’s customer experience was phenomenal. They were realistic in their estimate of time, but also incredibly fast. Had a transmission rebuilt in a 2012 Suburban, and it was completed within a couple days. They were upfront about everything, and couldn’t give them a better review.

Browns have treated me fairly and have done a great job, both times I have used them. If you are looking for auto repair give them a try you wont be disappointed.

Patrick was great from the moment I called to when my vehicle was ready for pick up! This was my first visit to this shop and while they are small, they made room for my classic vehicle to be kept inside. Such a Treasure! We live in a world where deceptive practices and customer manipulation runs rampant. I initially went to Browns 3-4 years ago, after going to 2 different places and receiving a print out with multiple repairs I “urgently needed.” One well known Auto shop gave me a quote of almost $3,000 and the other gave me a quote of a little over $4,000. I then took my vehicle and this information to Brown’s. They were amazing and thorough. They checked everything that was noted as needing repair. I was floored when Brown’s told me that 60% of the repairs listed were not needed. I just could not believe how manipulative and dishonest these other Auto Shops were. I rarely make recommendations to places because of their customer service lacking consistency and integrity. However, I always refer friends, family and my CoWorkers to Brown’s.These guys have integrity, great customer service, and their “geterdone” approach is stellar!Highly Recommend, Highly, 110%!

The guys are awesome! Steve was wonderful throughout an insurance claim issue I was having, and they took excellent care of my vehicle while it was stored on site throughout the process.

This auto repair is wonderful! I had a really high quote from a neighboring shop. It was suggested that I take my car to Browns. They took great care of me. They were honest and I was back on the road for 2/3 less the cost. Oh and it also helps that they are always happy, laughing and having fun when I go in.

Are they perfect? No. Do they try hed to be? Definitely. Can work on a couple of things like letting you know when they can actually work on your vehicle instead of holding it for 3 days before even looking at it......BUT..that is minor compared to the excellent work they do.Very professional, friendly, and provide excellent work. I give Browns the highest of ratings. I have a 2006 Toyota Matrix that has needed several things repaired on it. Never have I been let down with their service. They have always completed the work in a timely manner at the reasonably priced they quoted me. I find them trust worthy and honest. This is the best repair shop you wanna take your car.I was blessed with the information I received about this workshop, AKA transmission wholesalers. I visited this place after a dealership recommended that I needed replacements for both transmission and engine on my car, this exercise would not cost any less than $30k.Jeremy (owner of the repair shop) advised that I should allow him a few days to thoroughly diagnose the vehicle. They later found that I didnt need any replacement; transmission was rebuilt and some wiring wes fixed. They told ne the engine was perfect as against what the dealership suggested.. Just a few dollars above $5k put back my car on the road.They are very trustworthy. I will recommend them more than a million times.

I needed a brake job, oil change, and my airbag light is on. I needed this all fixed and all but the airbag light was fixed (it was too expensive to get fixed at this particular point, but will go back to have them fix it.) The price was really fair, and the quality of work was great. Very friendly men here and willing to answer any questions.

We were headed back from Galveston and we broke down in Huston with 4 adults, 5 children and now one car. We called Browns and Steve answers the phone. Explained what was going on. He not only got us in the very next day, he keep us informed about every step. Had us back on the road the next day. GREAT EXPERIENCE !

Best place in town for Transmission Repair

Jeremy and his staff went more than the extra mile for me! We have had two different vehicles there to have the transmissions rebuilt and both were handled with professionalism, efficiency and honesty. We have had other mechanical work done that also was handled very well. We highly recommended Brown’s Auto for any car problems you might have.

I contacted Browns Auto on Saturday and spoke to Patrick after I had received an outrageous estimate from Tom Peacock Cadillac a day earlier. The estimate ranged from $1,600 to $2,900 for replacement of engine mount and two transmission mounts, a wheel alignment as well as various flushes.This didnt sound right to me. How could a 2013 Cadillac with only 14,000 miles need such extensive repairs? I bought this car brand new. I arrived at Browns earlier this morning and explained the situation to Steve Smith, the service manager. Steve immediately had a mechanic check for the issues Tom Peacock found wrong with my vehicle.Browns mechanic could find none of these issues, including engine vibration that the dealer claimed they heard. This took less than an hour even though they were very busy.If you are looking for an honest auto repair shop, do not hesitate to go to Browns Auto Repair. From now on I will be bringing my car here for any work, inspections etc. that needs to be done.Steve, Patrick you guys are fantastic. Thank you so much!
