I filed claim with HWA on April 8 and was assigned to EMS Home Services-Houston, they came to my house to inspect and came with part needs to replace. Before they order part, they ask us to pay 250$ for the part disposal service. We paid the amount and wait for 15 days then call HWA, they said the part was back order. We continue to call every other day, still the same answer, part back order. We live without AC under 90+ degree from April 8 to May 21, We called HWA again and request a new vendor.HWA assign Smart Choice on May 21, May 22 Smart Choice Engineer Alex G. came to my house, amazingly, after less than 1 hour, Alex was able to fix my AC without any part to needed to replaces. Thanks Alex for your expertise and honestly doing the repair within hour. We strongly recommend Smart Choice to repair your AC and highly advised HWA assign customer AC claim to Smart Choice and avoid EMS, cost your repair money and your reputation too.Vo & Stephanie Le

OMG! The technician went through my system with a fine tooth comb and found and corrected numerous small issues that could have been major issues if left untreated and it didnt cost me a single penny! Look into getting Smart Choice ACs gold member maintenance plan and you will NOT be sorry you did and it will save you in the long run.

Update from previous comment: Lizandro came back out early this morning and double checked everything. He thinks the power surge we had last night might’ve caused the compressor to shut back off instead of the other way around, but all is working good now. He’s very nice and professional, and we appreciate his quick responses.OLD-Technician repaired our A/C and it quit again about 10 minutes after he left. He’s supposed to come back again tomorrow to see why the compressor won’t come back on, so can’t really rate the service yet but he was very professional and showed up within the scheduled time frame.

Technician was very courteous and explained what issues he found and what was done to fix them. He also explained what issues were referred to the home warranty for approval.

The technician Lizandro, was very courteous and knowledgeable. The technician informed me in detail what the problem was and how to avoid problems in the future. Well, I won’t be avoiding anything, I’m getting their Gold Plan membership plan today which is very comprehensive and affordable!

My A/C went out due to lack of maintenance. They did not make me feel bad instead just politely reinforce the idea of scheduled maintenance. They were prompt and polite got my system up in running quickly. Aside from getting cold air again it was all done at a very reasonable price. Good price and amazing service what more can one ask for when you have a vital system in your home go down.

Lizandro initially came out from a home warranty call. He was gracious and responsive. He said the system needed to be replaced. Home Service Club denied it (on appeal) but we needed an HVAC system. We got bids from three vendors. Smart was not the cheapest, but they were the most responsive. Lizandro manged the installation. One day. They solved some distribution problems we had, install a new intake vent, and cleaned up everything. They came back a week later and checked the flow on every vent and made sure the system was well balanced. I was very impressed with their work.

These guys are crazy reliable. We contacted our home warranty folks and told them of our issues. They assigned Smart Choice for our device needs. Smart choice contacted us immediately and set an appointment. They actually came earlier then their appointment time making sure to notice us regarding the chandelier. Lizandro was the service rep and to say he was wonderful would be an understatement. He assessed our problem and left and promised a return visit asap. This was Friday afternoon is a heat wave with us needing a new control board. Monday afternoon we were texted with a news of our Wednesday morning appointment now scheduled. Lizandro was at our home at 8am on the dot, made the repair and 30 minutes later was thanking me for mr business. We were happily surprised with the quick service we received especially in a Texas heat wave. 5 stars for these guys

They came out, very professional & on time, (my unit was 19 yrs old & on its way out. Had to add freon every year.) Lasandro was very honest & upfront on what needs to be done to repair it or purchase a new system. They did not pressure me to buy a big new system. We went over my options and after I decided, we scheduled a date for the replacement unit to be installed. The team was on time & very professional during the entire installation. My new unit has been running & cooling maintenance free ever since! Plus Ive been saving $$ on my electric bill & no out of pocket expense on freon every year!! Turns out the burnt out wire that EMS ac replaced along with a new circuit board was not connected correctly. This caused us to be without AC for a wk until we got Smart Choice to come out and fix it correctly.Tried to be reimbursed for my 85 serv fee from Choice Warranty and they will not reimb me. Hmm at this point Im just happy my ac is running in this 100+ temp!Great company! Thank you for your quick response!!
